Access to Higher Education

If your next step requires you to hold a degree or higher-level qualification, we can help you bridge the gaps in your knowledge and allow you to access opportunities to achieve these qualifications. Access to Higher Education (HE) diplomas are Level 3 qualifications, usually delivered over one year, which are recognised by most universities as a valid alternative route for adults aged 19+ into any relevant degree. Although most universities recognise these diplomas, it is important to check with your chosen university destination(s) and course(s), as some may require specific A Levels or other qualifications to apply.

Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer.

They are being developed by the Government as part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities, to help people develop the skills that are in demand in their local area and get a better job. At Yeovil College we are delivering three different bootcamps within Digital Marketing, Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Repair, and Lean Manufacturing.
