Access to Higher Education

If you are thinking about career development or a complete career change and are considering university study but don’t have the traditional entry requirements, then an Access to Higher Education Diploma may be right for you.

Our Access to Higher Education programmes aim to give adults (19+) a fresh chance at learning. They are nationally recognised qualifications awarded by AIM representing an alternative route to university. As well as giving you the opportunity to gain academic skills, our Access to Higher Education courses support you to refresh and develop your study skills, build your confidence and open the gateway to new opportunities.

There is no such thing as a typical Access to Higher Education student. All ages and backgrounds are welcome, including those who have been out of education for long periods. Flexible study arrangements are available for our Access to Higher Education programmes, offering day and evening study options for some subjects.

We also offer totally online, flexible Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Nursing, Midwifery and Health Professionals, suitable for those who are unable to commit to full-time college-based study due to personal or employment reasons. Online courses are fully supported by the expertise of the Yeovil College team.

Please contact us for more information on fees and funding. Your Access to Higher Education course may be fully funded if you are aged 19-23 and this is your first level 3 course. Anyone aged 19 and over can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the tuition fees. This may not need to be repaid if you progress to complete a higher education course.

We currently offer Access to Higher Education Diplomas in the following subjects:

  • Health Professionals (online delivery)
