TERM DATES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION
Throughout the year, there are Study Skills Weeks and also a number of Independent Study Days / Weeks. During Study Skills Weeks, there will not be formal teaching, but students will be set structured work to undertake by their lecturers. Students will also have access to a suite of Study Skills resources and learning activities to undertake during this time. During Independent Study Days and Weeks there will be no formal teaching, but students will be expected to conduct reading and research, and work on their assignments.
Please note that the term dates for BSc (Hons) Social Work are slightly different to those listed below. BSc (Hons) Social Work students will start WC 16th September (new students) and WC 23rd September (returning students). Students will be timetabled for lessons during WC 16th Dec, but will have non-teaching weeks at other times in the academic year. Full term date information is included in your Course Handbook.

Summer Holidays
Examination Boards (also referred to as Assessment Boards or Award Boards) for YCUC validated Pearson, University of Gloucestershire, and Open University programmes are scheduled for the week commencing 7th July 2025. Examination Boards for YCUC validated City & Guilds provision, as well as Reassessment Boards for any YCUC validated Pearson or University of Gloucestershire programmes as required, are scheduled for the week commencing 18th August 2025. Interim Boards, for programmes which require these, are scheduled for week commencing 10th March 2025. Please note that dates may change in exceptional circumstances.
