TERM DATES FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Throughout the year, there are a number of Study Skills Days/Weeks – there will not be formal teaching during these times, but students will be set structured work to undertake by their lecturers. Students will also have access to a suite of Study Skills resources and learning activities to undertake during this time. There are also three Independent Study Weeks throughout the academic year – during these weeks there will be no timetabled teaching, but students will be expected to conduct reading and research, and work on their assignments.

Please note that the term dates for BSc (Hons) Social Work are slightly different to those listed below. Specific differences are that returning BSc (Hons) Social Work students will start WC 8^th September, for Social Work students Term 2 will not commence until WC 26^th Jan, and for Social Work students Term 3 will end WE 8^th May. Full term date information is included in your Course Handbook.

Summer Holidays

Examination Boards (also referred to as Assessment Boards or Award Boards) for YCUC validated Pearson, University of Gloucestershire, and Open University programmes are scheduled for the week commencing  7^th July 2025. Examination Boards for YCUC validated City & Guilds provision, as well as Reassessment Boards for any YCUC validated Pearson or University of Gloucestershire programmes as required, are scheduled for the week commencing 18^th August 2025. Interim Boards, for programmes which require these, are scheduled for week commencing 10^th March 2025. Please note that dates may change in exceptional circumstances.
