Student Services

We have many services which have been designed to make our students’ lives just that little bit better and easier, and we are proud to offer a wide variety of services and products to students, depending upon their individual needs.

The Learning Centre

The Learning Centre is equipped with a comprehensive selection of up-to-date resources including books, ebooks, journals, online subscriptions, and free WiFi. Students are supported by knowledgeable Learning Centre staff who can help in finding resources and accessing the computers.

The Quiet Study Area

The Quiet Study Area offers a wide range of online resources and electronic books meticulously selected to support students working towards Higher Education and developing the personal study skills needed for university.

Students’ Union

You will automatically become a member of the Yeovil College Students’ Union when you become a student with us. Our union works hard to organise activities, trips and experiences to ensure that you have a great time whilst studying at Yeovil College. Don’t forget to buy your TOTUM card which entitles you to many great high street discounts on food, clothes and college supplies.

College Clubs & Societies

Spending time with like-minded people is a really important part of your experience at college, which is why our Students’ Union have created a number of clubs and societies, including chess club, craft club, LGBTQIA+ group, debating society or Christian Unity (Engage). We also have a hugely competitive Sports Academy through Team YC.

Sports Academy

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to play and compete in sport at the highest possible level whilst studying at College. Our Sports Academy, which includes football, rugby, badminton, netball, basketball and athletics, claims many sporting titles and trophies. We are extremely proud of our sporting achievements.

Nursery

If you have children under school age, then we have an onsite day nursery which has been rated as ‘good’ by OFSTED, and provides a friendly and welcoming environment.

Our staff are extremely well-qualified and our nursery is equipped with excellent resources, including a brand new Forest School, supported by Bradfords. For more information, click here.

Welfare

Your welfare is extremely important to us. We will support you with both personal and course related worries that might have a negative impact upon your study programme or your experience at Yeovil College.

We will not judge you. We will listen to you in a supportive and accepting way, making external referrals to professional agencies as appropriate to your needs.
