School Connections
Meet our School Connections Team and discover all the ways in which we can support you to support your learners.
Our School Connections team is made up of the Senior Management Team, Strategic Leads and School Connection Officers. Every single member of the team is in place to support you, and you will have met most of us at college-based events or in your school. We truly believe that our close working partnerships with local schools, is a huge benefit in creating extraordinary futures in our community. Working together increases the network of opportunities that are available to you as a school and us as a college.
What do we do?
School Partnerships – We work closely with our local school partners to share information, resources and tools that are helpful in making decisions on important next steps.
Point of Contact – We are the link between Yeovil College and your school, for any questions on applications, what happens next or to arrange additional visits to Yeovil College.
School Events and Assemblies – We visit schools to deliver assemblies to students from Year 8 through to Year 11. We also support school-based events such as careers fairs, parents’ evenings and options evenings.
College Events – We organise and are in place at the front of every college event so we can greet learners with a friendly face and facilitate conversations with the right Yeovil College staff members.
Experience Days – We co-ordinate and run our annual Year 10 Experience Days and Year 8 My Futures event that you will attend with your school.
Somerset Partnerships – We work closely with the Somerset 14-19 Partnership group. We sponsor their annual Somerset Careers Fair and host termly meetings for Careers Advisers, Teachers and external agencies to create opportunities and discuss any issues facing our young people when it comes to taking those next steps.
What can we support you with?
The opportunities are endless. We create bespoke support plans for every school partner, recognising that all schools have different schedules and plans across the year. Here is an example of some of the activities we have been involved in this year, both in schools and here at college:

- Careers Workshops
- Work Experience sessions for learners not on a placement.
