Accessibility and Inclusivity
Equal Opportunities and SEND Support – Every Learner, Every Journey
At Yeovil College, we are committed to providing equal opportunities for all learners, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, ability, or need, can access meaningful career guidance and work experience.
Support for SEND students is not an add-on; it is embedded in everything we do. We recognise that each learner’s journey is unique, and we tailor our approach to meet individual needs, aspirations, and circumstances.
Personalised Support
Each curriculum area is supported by a dedicated Careers and Work Placement Coordinator who works closely with SEND learners. These coordinators build strong relationships with students, understanding their strengths, challenges, and goals to provide personalised support throughout their time at college.
Guided Next Steps
We work collaboratively with parents, guardians, and support teams to ensure that learners are fully engaged in planning their next steps. Whether it’s preparing for work experience, exploring progression routes, or building employability skills, we offer guidance that is inclusive, accessible, and empowering.
Inclusive Work Experience
Work experience opportunities are designed to be inclusive and flexible, ensuring that SEND students can participate meaningfully and safely. We liaise with employers to create supportive environments and make reasonable adjustments where needed, so every student can gain valuable real-world experience.
Our Commitment
- Respect and celebrate diversity
- Remove barriers to participation
- Champion inclusive career education
- Empower every learner to Dream Big.
We believe that every learner deserves the chance to thrive, and we are proud to support SEND students in building confidence, independence, and a bright future.
