Course Overview
The Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects Hair and Media Make-Up is an
advanced qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or
self-employed theatrical media make-up artist working with performers to a high
level of occupational ability. You will be able to provide hair and make-up
services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic
industries.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
Work experience of 30 hours is part of the course and provides valuable experience in a real working environment

Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects Hair and Media Make-Up (QCF)
After The Course
You can progress onto Higher Education qualifications or work in industry as a Professional make-up artist.
What Will I Learn
You will learn to develop your skills using prosthetics and special effects make-up creating character Media make-up looks to cover a range of design briefs. You will advance your skills in airbrush make-up, fashion and photographic make-up, camouflage cover up, lash extensions and learn to instruct make-up application delivering lessons and tutorials to your clients.
English And Maths
You may be required to attend English and maths classes as part of your study programme.

Teaching Learning and Assessment
You will be taught in a range of different settings and complete both practical and theory based activities. You will be assessed on your abilites at regular intervals throughout your course. You will complete both written and online based assessments as well as being observed developing your practical skills.

You will be required to purchase Kit and uniform and have the opportunity to pay for educational visits.
How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed in the practical environment and will also be required to complete assignments and tests.
