Yeovil College Student Celebrated for Kickboxing Success as She Trains at Institute of Sport
A Yeovil College sport student is making her mark on the national stage after achieving podium success at a major kickboxing competition, whilst continuing to balance elite performance with her studies.
Imy Nathan, who is studying Sport Coaching and Development at Yeovil College, recently competed at the Titans Collide Kickboxing Competition in Surrey, where she secured two bronze medals in the advanced points fighting and light-continuous categories. Facing a high standard of opposition, the event provided a valuable opportunity for Imy to test her skills against experienced competitors from across the country.
Her success marks another significant step in Imy’s sporting journey, with her next major challenge being the ISKA English Championships – a qualifying event for the 2026 World Kickboxing Championships in Madrid.
Imy’s development as an athlete is supported by Yeovil College’s Institute of Sport, which provides students with access to high-quality facilities, expert coaching support and an environment designed to help aspiring athletes train, compete and progress alongside their education. The Institute of Sport plays a key role in enabling students to perform at their best, whether they are aiming for elite competition or careers within the sports industry.
Alongside her competitive achievements, Imy is also using her sporting platform to give back. She recently took part in the Yeovil Half Marathon in support of the charity School in a Bag, which works to improve access to education for children around the world by providing schoolbags filled with essential learning resources.
Her dedication both on and off the mat reflects Yeovil College’s commitment to developing well-rounded students who combine ambition, resilience and social impact.
