Yeovil College Expands A Level Offerings with Exciting New Courses

Yeovil College is thrilled to announce an exciting expansion to its A Level offerings. A Level Physical Education (PE) and A Level Spanish will be joining the line-up from September 2025. This means that current Year 11 students can select either or both of these subjects at Yeovil College. 

The benefit of these key A Levels are clear: 

A Level Physical Education (PE): 

  • Develops a deep understanding of physical fitness, sports science, and health. 
  • Provides practical skills and theoretical knowledge that are highly valued in sports-related careers. 
  • Enhances teamwork, leadership, and communication abilities.

A Level Spanish: 

  • Enables students to achieve fluency in one of the world’s most widely spoken languages. 
  • Opens doors to international career opportunities and cultural experiences. 
  • Improves cognitive skills such as problem-solving, multitasking, and memory.

FAQs about the New A Levels: 

  • What are the entry requirements? To study a programme of A Levels at Yeovil College, students need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9 – 5. 
  • Can students switch to one of these new A Levels if they have already applied for a different course? Yes, switching is easy. Students can contact iZone at iZone@yeovil.ac.uk to discuss their options. 
  • What career opportunities do these A Levels offer? A Level Physical Education can lead to careers in sports science, coaching, physiotherapy, and more. A Level Spanish opens doors to careers in international business, translation, tourism, and education. 
  • Will there be any additional costs for these courses? There are no additional costs; however, there may be optional costs for extracurricular resources and trips.
