Yeovil College Celebrates Stellar GCSE Results

Yeovil College is thrilled to share the impressive GCSE results achieved by its students, many of whom are adults, or sitting the qualification exam for the second time.

Yeovil College is thrilled to report that its GCSE Maths and English results have surpassed the national average. English results are an impressive 12.4% higher, whilst Maths results are 7.1% higher than the national figures, reported on 22nd August. Furthermore, at Yeovil College, the pass rate for GCSE Maths  has improved by 3% against last year’s figures, whilst English has remained consistent, despite a national drop of 5%. This remarkable accomplishment underscores the dedication and hard work of both students and staff.

Mark Bolton, CEO & Principal, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students’ achievements. These results reflect their commitment, and the high-quality education provided at Yeovil College. It is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our entire college community.”

Inyoung Sutton-Jones, Curriculum Area Manager for English and Maths, expressed her delight at the students’ achievements: “We are overjoyed that our learners have excelled and received the grades they deserve. The English and Maths team have worked relentlessly to support learners, particularly those who require strong English and Maths grades to progress within their careers, whether that’s to further or high education, or to support progression within work. These results are a testament to students’ hard work, resilience, and belief that they could achieve; our learners have shown exceptional levels of resilience and perseverance to achieve the grades they rightly deserve.”

Scott Austin, Assistant Principal, shared his thoughts: “Success in exams doesn’t just lie in the hours of study and level of effort, but in the quality of understanding, the strength of perseverance, and the courage to believe in oneself. I offer my sincerest thanks to both our incredible teaching team and committed students, today’s result signifies a great teaching and learning partnership.”
