Welcoming back an outstanding member of our Performance Football team as part of the Yeovil College & Yeovil Town FC partnership.

Meet Lewis Winter, returning to the YTFC programme as a Football Coach, following his time as a first-team coach and YTFC Assistant Coach. 

Lewis brings a wealth of experience from across the Yeovil Town pathway and now plays a key role in developing the next generation of players through our official partnership programme – the only route into YTFC U19s. 

Lewis has shared his inspiring journey, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to football in Yeovil and the progression opportunities within the partnership, and said: 

“At the age of 14, I began my journey in football by volunteering at Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust (YTCST). This led me into college and a full-time coaching role as a community coach. Over time, I progressed into leadership roles, including Lead Soccer School Coach and Head of the Premier League Primary Stars project, before becoming Community Officer overseeing school engagement. 

I then moved into first-team coaching at YTCST, leading the team to finish top of the league. My career continued to grow through work with talent identification centres, before becoming Assistant Coach for the EPDP and U18s at Yeovil Town, where we won both the SW Central League and Western Counties Floodlight League.” 

Now fully focused on Yeovil College’s Performance Football programme, Lewis is helping to deliver a professional, player-centred environment, combining elite coaching, competitive football at Huish Park, and a Level 3 Sport qualification within our state-of-the-art Institute of Sport.
