Yeovil College Launches YC Start Smart to Help New Students Prepare for September
New students invited to attend tailored pre-enrolment sessions following GCSE Results Day
Students joining Yeovil College this September are invited to attend YC Start Smart, a new series of welcome sessions designed to ensure they feel confident, organised and fully prepared for their first day of college.
Taking place between Thursday 20 and Monday 24 August 2026, YC Start Smart provides enrolled students with a dedicated opportunity to confirm their GCSE results, collect essential information and resources, and complete the final steps before beginning their studies.
The initiative has been designed to make the transition from school to college as smooth as possible, giving students access to everything they need to start their course successfully.
During the sessions, students will be able to collect lanyards, ID cards and bus passes, receive course information and kit lists, access learning resources and login details, sign up for enrichment activities, explore work experience opportunities and receive careers guidance. Staff from across the College will be available throughout to answer questions and provide support.

These sessions give learners the opportunity to get organised, access important information and meet the teams who will support them throughout their time at Yeovil College. It’s all about helping students feel prepared and ready to hit the ground running from day one.”

Students can drop in at any point during their allocated session, with most visits expected to take approximately 30 minutes.
