Course Overview

This one day course is for anyone working in the food industry that prepares or handles food.

This course will develop your knowledge in all basic hygiene rules and will allow you to meet the lawful requirement that all food handlers have an understanding of the principles of food hygiene and safe working.

Qualification Gained

Level 2 Food Safety in Catering.

After The Course

This City & Guilds qualification will allow you to legally and safely work in kitchen food and preparation areas. You will have all the information that you need to be able to keep people safe and comply with food hygiene law.

What Will I Learn

You will learn your legal responsibilities and best practice in the following areas:
'Safe Food, Better Business' Food Safety
Critical temperature control
Open and close checks
Food storage
Cross contamination
Cleaning schedules
Importance of having an effective pest control system
Personal hygiene
Stock control
Stock rotation

This course is run in parallel with the Safe food better business guide.

Teaching Learning and Assessment

This is a theory based course and you will be supported throughout your day by your tutor.

Course Expenses

The cost for this course is £50.

How Will I Be Assessed

You will be assessed via a controlled, paper based, multiple choice exam at the end of the day. You will have your results by the end of the week.

Entry Requirements

This is open to anyone with an interest in food safety, or those needing the qualification to comply with the food safety regulations.
