Course Overview

Do you need proof of your English skills? Do you have all the skills, but no paperwork to back you up so that you can get your next job or promotion?

This one week, fast paced, intensive course is designed to get you exam ready for your Level 2 Functional Skills English qualification. We'll help you master your techniques in areas that you need support and prepare you for taking your Level 2 exams at the end of the week.

Most employers and further education providers will accept a level 2 functional skills qualification in place of your GCSE certificate, but you will need to double check with your chosen employer, college or university.

Qualification Gained

Nationally recognised City and Guilds Functional Skills English, Level 2

After The Course

You may use this qualification to progress your career or go onto further education opportunities. Most universities accept level 2 for entry onto their degree courses. You would be welcome to discuss your options with your tutor or one of our dedicated careers advisors.

What Will I Learn

You will have a whistle stop tour of the Functional Skills Level 2 English syllabus, with focus on specific areas that you may need polishing.
The syllabus includes:
Writing reports, articles, letters, blogs and more. For the reading component you will be taught how to analyse certain reading texts to obtain information about the purpose and intended audience of any text. You will have the opportunity to compare and contrast different texts.
