Open Event Designed for Young People with Specialist Needs & SEND
Yeovil College is pleased to announce an Open Event designed specifically to support young people and individuals with specialist needs, high needs and SEND, and for those who need a little bit more to reach their life and career goals.
Taking place on Thursday 4th December, from 5pm to 6.30pm, the smaller and bespoke Open Event provides an opportunity for students and their parents or guardians to engage in meaningful conversations with our teaching and support experts, with a commitment to personalised support ensures that every attendee receives the attention and resources they need to thrive.
During the event, visitors will have the chance to explore the support functions that enable young people to focus on their education with the right teams and resources behind them. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Discover the range of course options available, including Vocational Qualifications, A Levels, Apprenticeships, Supported Internships and Foundation Learning.
- Meet support staff from SEND, Student Support, iZone, and the Careers Teams.
- Discuss exam access arrangements and the support available for this.
- Explore the Foundation Learning department to see if it’s the right pathway for them.
- Ask questions about the EHCP application process.
At Yeovil College, there is a range of study programmes and cross-college support designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. During their time at College, students will engage in various activities aimed at enhancing their academic, vocational, and social skills before progressing to their post 18 options.
The College provides a diverse range of study programmes aimed towards people with more complicated needs and to those who need extra time to develop personally and academically, both within their Foundation Learning Department and across their main curriculum offer. The purpose being to create life-changing opportunities through the creation of the best educational offer and employer/community collaborations.
