The information that you give us

As part of the delivery of our courses to you, our staff will collect (e.g. for marking purposes), the work that you create using various formats including paper, video and photographs. In addition, when you use the IT systems we provide you with access to, we will process the data you input/upload.

The uses made of your personal information

We will use your information for the purposes of teaching you and measuring your progress and achievements.

Generally, the information is processed as part of our public interest task of providing education to you.

How we share your personal information.

We may share the personal information that you give us with the following organisations (or types of organisation) for the following purposes:

Awarding Organisations: to supply awarding organisations’ representatives/external verifiers and External Quality Assurers (EQA) with samples of students’ work to ensure that student grading is consistent and adheres to awarding organisation standards.

End Point Assessment Organisations: to supply end point assessment organisations with apprentices work to ensure that an apprentice is ready for gateway and to complete their end point assessment.

Internal quality assurers: to supply College internal quality assurers with samples of students’ work to ensure that student grading is consistent and adheres to awarding organisation standards.

We may also share your personal information with third parties who provide services to the College:

Smart Assessor, OneFile, IMI, VCTC ePortfolio: enables students to upload and securely store completed work either by scanning work, uploading photographs or uploading videos.

Moodle: enables students to upload and securely store completed work either by scanning work, uploading photographs or uploading videos.

Turnitin: enables students to upload assignments to detect and check for plagiarism.

BKSB: the College supplies BKSB with the learner reference, forename and surname of students to enable them to log into BKSB to carry out initial and diagnostic English and maths assessments to enable the College to enrol learners on the correct English and Maths levels.

Surveys: Student data will be used to establish a target list for student surveys to be completed.

We do not store or transfer your personal data outside Europe.
