Yeovil College’s David Smith named in prestigious Laboratory Leading 20 for 2025
Yeovil College is proud to announce that David Smith, Lead Dental Expert and Programme Manager for Dental Technology, has been named in the prestigious Laboratory Leading 20 for 2025.
This national recognition celebrates the most influential figures in UK dental technology who are driving innovation and excellence across the profession.
The Laboratory Leading 20, curated annually by FMC and the Laboratory editorial board, highlights individuals whose leadership, creativity, and commitment are shaping the future of dental laboratories. David Smith’s inclusion reflects his outstanding contributions to dental education and his impact on the wider professional community.
“David’s passion for advancing dental science and mentoring the next generation of technicians continues to inspire both students and professionals alike,” said James Guest, Curriculum Area Manager, Yeovil College.
Now in its third year, the Laboratory Leading 20 initiative does not rely on public voting or rigid criteria. Instead, it reflects the panel’s expert judgment of those making a tangible difference in the field. Nominees are evaluated on their influence, visibility, and contributions that benefit the profession both within and beyond the lab.
David has played a pivotal role in developing Yeovil College’s dental technology programme, ensuring students are equipped with the skills and insight needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry. His leadership continues to elevate the College’s reputation as a centre of excellence in vocational education.
