- Mental health as a right, not a privilege: Advocating for immediate, high‑quality support for all young people, regardless of background.
- Connection as prevention: Tackling isolation and loneliness through inclusive activities such as dodgeball and laughter yoga.
- Youth voices at the heart of decision‑making: Ensuring that young people’s perspectives shape local policies and services.
- Shattering stigma: Delivering peer‑led workshops to dismantle silence and promote open conversations around mental health.
Why Rosemary Stands Out
- Diligent and approachable: Committed to helping peers feel seen, heard, and understood.
- Proven advocate: A devoted passion for mental health advocacy.
- Collaborative: Ready to work with local leaders and young people to deliver meaningful results.
If elected, Rosemary pledges to:
- Use student data to influence local authorities and secure faster access to mental health resources.
- Launch a “Connection Hub” network – safe, out‑of‑school discussion groups to combat isolation and build peer support.
- Integrate non‑competitive games such as Jenga Q&A sessions to provide healthy breaks from academic pressure.
- Partner with colleges to deliver peer‑led awareness workshops and dismantle stigma.
Quote from Rosemary Ihenetu:
“Mental health is health, not a privilege. Every young person deserves immediate and high‑quality support. Change begins with us, and together we can build a community where no youth feels alone.”
