Yeovil College Celebrates Positive GCSE Results
Yeovil College is proud to announce the performance of its students in today’s [21st August 2025] GCSE examination results, with the vast majority of students being adult learners or individuals retaking the opportunity to retake qualifications.
The College’s results in GCSE English and Mathematics have notably exceeded national averages, and this has been an upward trend for several years. As of today, Yeovil College’s English results stand an impressive 14.1% above the national benchmark, whilst Mathematics results are 4.8% higher. Against our own targets and annual data, the pass rate for GCSE English has increased by 5% compared to the previous year, and GCSE Maths results have remained stable. These outcomes reflect the unwavering commitment and diligence of both students and staff.

Student Success Stories
Emilia Hawkings, a Kickstart student at Yeovil College, has achieved a grade 7 in English and 5 in Maths. She said: “Yeovil College gave me the support I needed, and I found it was very different to school; it was a lot more flexible. My next step is to start A Levels in English Literature, English Language and Photography. I am very excited!”
Rosemary Ihenetu, this year’s winner of the college’s Health Shining Star Award, has passed both GCSE English and Maths. “I moved here from Nigeria 7 months ago – this is my first British school, and I worked very hard. I have amazing teachers here at Yeovil College who are passionate about what they do. Studying at this college has given me the kick that I needed to keep working on what I love. My next step will be starting A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology here at the college.”
Lorenzo Duranti, a consultant at Leonardo in Yeovil, achieved a 5 in GCSE English at Yeovil College. He said: “I chose to study here because it is very close to work and where I live; it was the perfect location for me. The advice I want to give to other foreign students is to take advantage of the offerings at Yeovil College and earn the certifications you need.”
