Yeovil College Celebrates National Careers Week 2026 (3-7th March) with a Focus on Careers Confidence

Yeovil College is gearing up to celebrate National Careers Week 2026 with a full, dynamic programme of events designed to inspire learners, strengthen employer partnerships, and build a powerful sense of Careers Confidence across the entire college community.

Running throughout National Careers Week – 3rd March to 7th March – the college’s activities will spotlight the many pathways available to students, from Higher Education and apprenticeships to technical careers, industry placements, and the world of work. The aim is clear: to equip every learner with the confidence, knowledge and ambition they need to take meaningful next steps toward their future career.

Empowering Students Through Careers Confidence

This year’s theme at Yeovil College centres on Careers Confidence – ensuring that every student understands their potential and feels ready to thrive in a rapidly changing employment landscape.

Principal & CEO Mark Bolton said:

“National Careers Week is a vital moment in the academic year. It allows us to bring together students, employers and teaching staff to highlight the real opportunities available across our great region and beyond.

“Careers Confidence is about more than choosing a pathway, it’s about helping learners understand who they are, what they can do, and where their skills can take them. We are proud to work with industry partners who share our commitment to shaping the future workforce and supporting young people as they move toward bright, ambitious futures.”

A Week of Opportunities & Employer Engagement

Throughout the week, Yeovil College will deliver a broad schedule of careers‑focused activities, including:

  • Employer talks and sector spotlights
  • Industry insight sessions
  • Apprenticeship guidance
  • CV and employability workshops
  • Careers drop‑ins and one‑to‑one support
  • Curriculum‑embedded careers activities across all departments.

The College will also be highlighting stories of student success, staff expertise, employer partnerships and the real-life experiences that support student progression.

Strengthening Local Talent Pipelines

Yeovil College maintains strong relationships with regional and national employers, ensuring that students can access up-to-date industry knowledge and genuine workplace experience. These partnerships not only support career readiness but help to develop the skilled workforce needed for Somerset’s growing economy.

Assistant Principal for Employer Engagement, Alex Clancy, Assistant Principal for Employer Engagement, commented:

“By working collaboratively with employers, training providers and community partners, we help our students develop real-world understanding and confidence. These experiences are essential for guiding learners into meaningful careers while strengthening the talent pipelines that local industries rely on.”

National Careers Week provides a platform for Yeovil College to reaffirm its commitment to raising aspirations, supporting student ambition, and championing the next generation of skilled professionals.

The college will be sharing updates, success stories and highlights throughout the week on its social media channels and website.
