Supporting Young People with SEND and EHCPs Event

On Tuesday 5th March 2024, Yeovil College is hosting a parent and guardian focused event – Supporting Young People with SEND and EHCPs. Throughout the event, parents and guardians will hear from the newly appointed SENDCo, Sophia Dickson and Foundation Learning teams as the college help parents and guardians to support their young person in the transition up to Further Education.

In addition to planned presentations, there will be a series of market-stall type support stands in place to allow parents/guardians to have deeper, more one-to-one based conversation with experts. Stands will include SEND, Project Search (Supported Internships), Careers and Employability and GCSE English and Maths.

Yeovil College has several teams of people in place to support the parents and guardians of learners with a SEND need and/or an EHCP, no matter what their preference is for their young person. Throughout the evening, the college will focus on the process, using Yeovil College as the example, to ensure that everyone gets the support they need, regardless of their next destination.

The Supporting Young People event is open to everyone, not just those who have applied to Yeovil College as their post-16 provider. To book a space, following the link: https://www.yeovil.ac.uk/events/supporting-young-people-with-send-and-ehcps/
