Tasters and Tours are at the heart of Yeovil College’s First Open Event

For the first time this academic year, Yeovil College is showcasing its UK leading facilities, exceptional campus and state-of-the-art technology, alongside taster sessions and full campus tours at the first open event of the year, on Tuesday 17 October, 5pm to 8pm.

Yeovil College knows the importance of securing first choice course options at a first-choice college, which is why the first information is significant to Year 11s within South Somerset and North and West Dorset. When a student is secure and confident in their choice for the future, they are focused on their GCSE performance, which is why Yeovil College us delighted to share an opportunity to discover post-16 options in A Levels, T Levels, Apprenticeships, Vocational qualifications and the Yeovil College University Centre provision.

On Tuesday 17 October 2023, between 5pm to 8pm, the first information event of the academic year will take place, providing an opportunity to meet Yeovil College’s lecturers and support staff onsite, to answer your questions and also to show off the state-of-the-art facilities and showcase the 21st Century campus. There will be opportunities to meet the Principal & CEO, Mark Bolton, and his senior team, and listen to the Principal’s presentation. Visiting students will also be able to get involved in activities taking place within our vocational areas across the campus.

Yeovil College offers a varied range of subjects across every curriculum area relevant to the local industry and business opportunities, providing study programmes with a clear line of sight to careers and employment opportunities. This includes A Levels, Vocational qualifications, University-level qualifications, Professional and Technical qualifications and the Yeovil College T Level offer.

In particularly, Yeovil College is proud of its apprenticeship dentistry provision (Dental Technician, Oral Health Practitioner and Enhanced Clinical Practitioner), which attracts students from across the South East, South West and Midlands to study the unique programme.

Mark Bolton, Principal & CEO of Yeovil College said: “We are investing significantly into our campus to offer our community a learning provision that is employer and demand-led and fit to deliver the higher digital skills of the future, and the Information Event is an ideal way to become part of the vision. It will demonstrate how we bring learning to life, providing students with a springboard to their industry of choice.

“I believe that every student has the potential to be extraordinary, to be more than they ever thought possible, to be more than they dared to dream and to achieve bigger and better for themselves. Through our brilliant college, we will generate a more positive future for our students, our businesses and our communities. We are ambitious for our learners, and we will work exceptionally hard to provide them with the best resources, facilities, technology, teachers and future opportunities.”

The college campus has seen a lot of changes over the past couple of years. They have become an Institute of Technology, one of only 12 in the whole country; achieved high A Level grades including 100% or 99% pass rate for the eighth consecutive year; the commencement of T Levels across all T Level areas has taken place; and winning a significant amount of funding to deliver higher digital skills across subjects which are most in demand; and have secured around £50 million worth of funding to build an even more brilliant college.
