A Level Transition Event announced for Future Students starting this September
Yeovil College is pleased to announce its upcoming A Level Transition Event, taking place on Thursday 26th March from 6.00–7.00pm (doors open at 5.30pm). The event is open to all applied A Level applicants and their parents or guardians, providing an essential opportunity to prepare for a successful start to post‑16 study.
Designed to support a smooth, confident, and informed transition from school to college, the evening will introduce families to the high expectations, specialist support, and extensive academic opportunities available within Yeovil College’s A Level provision.
Supporting Academic Excellence
Attendees will hear from senior staff and subject specialists about the standards, study habits, and academic mindset required to achieve excellence at A Level. The session will help students understand what it means to start strong, adopt effective routines early, and build the foundations needed for high performance.
Elevate Programme
The event will also highlight Yeovil College’s Elevate Programme, a bespoke enrichment offer designed for high‑achieving, gifted, and talented learners. The programme provides additional stretch, challenge, and academic enhancement, supporting students to stand out in competitive educational and career pathways.
Meet the A Level Team
Parents, guardians, and future students will have the opportunity to meet the experienced A Level teaching team and key support staff who will guide learners throughout their academic journey. Staff will be available to answer questions, discuss subject pathways, and explain how students are supported from enrolment through to progression.
A Level Structure & Experience
Guests will gain insight into the structure of A Level study at Yeovil College, including subject combinations, timetables, independent study expectations, work experience opportunities, and the academic year’s rhythm and milestones. A dedicated session will share what a typical day looks like for an A Level student, helping families understand how lessons, enrichment activities, and wider opportunities fit together.
Future Pathways & Progression
The evening will also showcase the strong progression routes available to Yeovil College A Level students, from competitive university degrees—including Russell Group institutions—to degree apprenticeships and ambitious career pathways. Information will be provided on how early preparation can significantly enhance applications to high‑value destinations.
