Counter-Terrorism Protective Security & Preparedness L3 Award
Course Overview
Since the enquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing, steps have been taken to enhance the role of businesses in identifying and preventing or mitigating potential threats. These steps include the passing of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, which places a duty on business premises which have public accessibility (including shops, clubs, pubs, restaurants, schools/colleges, cinemas, conference centres, sports venues, festivals) to have plans and preventative measures in place.
Part of the requirement is for organisations to have nominated people (Competent Persons) responsible for ensuring that anti-terrorism plans are in place and maintained, for liaising with the Security Industry Authority and for delivering the additional requirements for any enhanced-tier businesses or events.
The Counter-Terrorism Protective Security & Preparedness - Level 3 Award course has been designed in partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Security Office to provide businesses with the knowledge and skills necessary.
