Barbering - Level 2 (September 2026 start)
Course Overview
The Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is a vocational qualification that has been designed to develop a limited number of barbering skills to a high level of occupational ability and will prepare you to enter the men's hairdressing sector as a unisex hairdresser.
This qualification includes the units to prepare you to work effectively as a junior unisex hairdresser, including 4 main units such as: client consultation for hair services, cutting men's hair, cutting facial hair and following health and safety in the salon.
This qualification will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to advise and consult with men on the type of haircut and facial hair shaping the way they want, but just as importantly what is suitable for them. You will also learn how to work in a safe manner throughout the service protecting both yourself and your clients.
Alongside the Certificate in Barbering you will complete a stand alone unit in shaving services and a level 2 award in head massage.

Entry Requirements
Good knowledge of Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) is required.
You will be required to take part in a practical skills scan to determine your starting point and natural flare for Barbering.
