Skills Bootcamp in Application of AI for Business

Our Skills Bootcamp in Application of AI programme is part of the Government's Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs. It has been designed to give individuals the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills for themselves and upskilling in a new skills to be utilised in their current roles and responsibilities.

The Creative Industries Department at Yeovil College has brought this government supported initiative to the doorsteps of our local community to assist individuals who are aspiring to upskill in the Application of AI for business and the Skills required for this area. This Skills Bootcamp is intended to help upskill or reskill 19+ adults within our community so that they are able to fill the high in-demand AI skills needs.

The skills and curriculum content planned for delivery have been specially designed in collaboration with and acting on feedback from local and regional employers and industry specialists.

This Skills Bootamp course will be delivered and taught at The iAero Centre in Yeovil.

Skills Bootcamp in Application for AI in Business

After completing the 10 week programme learners could progress onto a degree in Digital. New programmes are continuing to emerge on AI.

Key topics covered will include the following:

• Week 1 & 2: AI Overview and Introduction to AI Tools

• Week 3 & 4: How AI is Transforming Business and Prompt Engineering/Design

• Week 5 & 6: Application of AI in Business

• Week 7 & 8: AI-Driven Business Transformation Opportunities

• Week 9 & 10: Final Presentation

Your lecturers are specialists in developing your skills in the work place to progress to your next level. The College will use Associate lecturers to support the delivering of this programme.

Learners will benefit from a combination of tutor-led sessions, practical project working in our new Industry Standard in AI including practical sessions, group discussions and post-training support activities. The learning environment is rich with technology tools both in the physical learning space and our Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). Lessons are packed with hands-on practical activities and use of current AI tools alongside collaborative development and teamwork on project.

This course funding is supported by employers, who will co-invest for the employees to attend and upskilling on the Skills Bootcamps.

Full Price: £3,499

Thanks to government funding, small and medium-sized businesses can benefit from a 90% funding support, reducing the cost to just £349.90. Larger Companies (250+ employees): For larger organisations, you’ll pay only £1,049.70 after 70% funding from the government.

If you are Self-employed, the Skills Bootcamp could be fully funded. You will have to be aged 19+, have the right to live and work in the UK. You must agree to provide mandatory personal data and supplementary information on their employment outcomes for up to 6 months following completion of the Skills Bootcamp Agree to complete a Business Action Plan to support growth of your business. Finally, you must meet the requirements and/or prerequisites for the specific Skills Bootcamp.

Every week there will be review of learning and independent assignment work set. Learners will be assessed weekly to support progression.

No formal entry requirements needed. This course is particularly beneficial to individuals who are employed or self-employed. Access to a Laptop and certain AI tools would be beneficial.
