Preparation for Working in Counselling or Therapeutic Practice L2 Bundle
Course Overview
Are you looking to develop your skills and pursue a career within counselling, Special educational needs and disabilities or therapeutic practice?
This year long course provides you with three stand alone qualifications that develop your training to support you to move onto further training within Counselling, SEND, Social Science and Mental health fields.
As part of the course, you will develop your skills on the following courses:
Counselling skills, Behaviour that challenges and understanding Children and
Young People’s Mental Health.
The course develops your knowledge, skills and understanding offering online face to face delivery through the comfort of your own home.

L2 Certificate in Behaviour that challenges
L2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Mental Health.
After The Course
This combination of qualifications equips you with valuable insight and tools for roles in education, care, youth work, or mental health support. You may choose to apply your learning directly in the workplace or continue your development through further study, such as a Level 3 qualification in counselling, or an Access to Higher Education course. >br>If you're unsure about your next steps or would like to explore your options further, your assessor is available to support you. What Will I Learn
Throughout this preparation to counselling and therapeutic practice bundle you will learn the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
You will also develop the opportunity to investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage in a helping interaction appropriately.
As part of the bundle, you will also develop in-depth knowledge of behaviour that challenges and further develop your understanding of children and young people’s mental health in context, mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people the impact of mental ill-health on children and young people support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people.
Our Lecturers
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Teaching and learning are designed to support all students to achieve. The course is delivered online over 35 weeks.
There are a mixture of skills practice and theory-based sessions, and you will have the chance to put the theory you learn into practice during your lessons.
As an adult learner at Yeovil College, you will be able to access a range of support and services, including our dedicated Learning Resource Centre, a wealth of resources from our team of expert careers advisors, and a range of wellbeing support.

Course Expenses
For students aged 19 and over, this course will be available free of charge, dependent upon your nationality and residency status.
The course is free of charge for UK nationals and those who have pre-settled or settled status or other right of abode, who have lived in the UK for the last three years. How Will I Be Assessed
Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications needed, you must be over 19 to access this course and a drive to learn new knowledge.
This course requires a good level of written English, so we ask for applicants to hold either a GCSE in English at grade C / 4, or an equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2).
