Course Overview
Year 2 bricklaying is a fulltime programme that is
usually studied over one year. Students studying this qualification will build
cavity walls, brick arches, buttress walls and enhance skills ready for
employment.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
With support all learners will complete a minimum of 35 hours of work experience related to the qualification. Past students have worked with building & maintenance companies as part of their work experience and gone onto work part time or become an appre

After The Course
This qualification will enable learners to have the opportunity to progress into industry as an improver or into a bricklaying apprenticeship
What Will I Learn
You will learn all aspects of Health & Safety linked to the trade, cavity walling, setting out procedures and production of attached and isolated piers.
English And Maths
Learners who do not already hold a Maths and / or English qualification at grade 4 or above will study these subjects as part of their college qualification
Our Lecturers
Tim has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years, starting as apprentice bricklayer then working on many varied projects from domestic to commercial and infrastructure.
Enjoys spending time outside, camping and walking the dogs.
Also, member of national Airsoft team playing many unique sites throughout the UK.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Through activities in our industry specific practical work shops and dedicated theory sessions.

Course Expenses
Learners will need to purchase their own PPE (Work trousers, boots, gloves high vis and safety spectacles). We also recommend learners purchase relevant tools as an investment, and a course textbook to support their studies. Learners who join us on new students day will be given a kit list to help them prepare for their course.
How Will I Be Assessed
Practical assessments and multiply choice online exams.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths
Required Experience
To hold level one in bricklaying or relevant industry experience.
