Course Overview
The Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration is an ideal starting point for individuals currently working in or aspiring to enter roles such as Administrator, Business Support Officer, Office Junior, or Receptionist. This nationally recognised qualification provides a solid foundation in the essential principles and practices of business administration. Learners will gain technical knowledge and sector-specific skills, including how to create professional documents, manage reception services, arrange travel, support meetings, and solve problems in a business environment.
Beyond technical skills, the course also supports personal development and workplace readiness. Participants will explore topics such as employee rights and responsibilities, teamwork, and effective communication, all while enhancing their confidence and engagement in learning. Upon completion, learners will not only hold a respected Level 2 qualification but will also be well-prepared to progress onto the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration or further training opportunities in the field.

What Will I Learn
During the Business Administration Level 2 course, you will develop a broad range of practical and professional skills essential for success in administrative roles. You’ll begin by exploring the Principles of Providing Administrative Services, learning how to organise meetings, manage diaries, and handle incoming and outgoing mail efficiently. The course also covers Business Document Production and Information Management, equipping learners with the ability to create professional documents and manage business information effectively.
Communication and teamwork are key themes throughout the course. In the Communication in a Business Environment module, students will build confidence in using appropriate language and tone across different business contexts. You'll also gain an understanding of Employer Organisations, including how different types of businesses are structured and operate. Finally, the course focuses on Developing Working Relationships with Colleagues, helping learners build strong interpersonal skills and maintain positive, productive workplace relationships. These modules are designed to enhance employability and prepare learners for a successful career in business administration.

Entry Requirements
This course requires a good level of written English, so we ask for applicants to hold either a GCSE in English at grade C / 4, or an equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2).
