Course Overview
The course is designed to provide students who are intrigued and motivated
by art and design with opportunities to explore, develop and test their
creativity.
The qualification draws upon established approaches to teaching,
learning and assessment that are successfully proven to appeal to and engage
students seeking practical study over a more academic study route. You will get
to explore and experiment creatively in many different areas including Drawing,
Painting, Digital, 2D, 3D, Photography and Textiles.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
You will have the opportunity to take part in work experience or work related activity through working on real art and design briefs for local employers, charities and community groups.

UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design
After The Course
After successful completion of this study programme you can progress onto either the Level 3 Graphic Design and Photography (Digital Design, Games Design, Photography, 3D Design) or the Level 3 Art & Design (Art, Design, Fine Art, Craft, Fashion & Textiles).
What Will I Learn
You will gain a broad understanding to enable you to successfully progress onto the Level 3 programme. A typical week will include a mixture of fun practical and theory lessons focusing on a range of subject content related to art and design with support from your lecturer and working alongside others on your course.
This will include workshops covering the use of various materials, processes and techniques used by designers, artists and photographers. You will then apply this learning to set assignments and take your ideas and creativity in your own direction.
English And Maths
You will need to complete English & Maths whilst completing the qualification if you have not already achieved this at level 2.

Teaching Learning and Assessment
Through classroom based activities and practical Art and Design workshops and experiences supplemented by trips and employer based projects from industry leaders.

How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed through a mixture of coursework and a coursework based end of year Final Major Project
Entry Requirements
4 GCSE's at grade 3 and above, including either English and Maths or equivalent
