Course Overview
L2 electrical is a full-time programme that is usually studied over one
year. Studying this qualification will build on your knowledge of the electrical
industry, installing various electrical wiring and containment systems which can
be used in a variety of environments including domestic, commercial and
industrial premises. Alongside the practical you will complete four multiple
choice theory examinations and two written assignments.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
With support all learners will complete a minimum of 35 hours of work experience related to the qualification. Past students have worked with electricians as part of their work experience and gone onto work part time or become an apprentice with in the company.
Qualification Gained
L2 Diploma in electrical installation.
After The Course
This qualification will enable learners to have the opportunity to progress into industry as an electrical apprentice or continue on a full-time L3 Diploma.
What Will I Learn
You will learn all aspects of Health & Safety linked to the trade, electrical installation theory using industry approved codes of practice, basic electrical science and a wide range of practical hand skills required for the trade.
English And Maths
Learners who do not already hold a Maths and / or English qualification at grade 4 or above will study these subjects as part of their college qualification.
Our Lecturers
Andy who has a wealth of industry experience and has been a qualified teacher for a number of years. Andy still works in industry to maintain currency.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Through activities in our industry specific practical work shops and dedicated theory sessions.

How Will I Be Assessed
Practical assessments and multiple-choice online exams.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 3/4 or above, including English and maths.
Required Experience
Completion of the L1 Electrical qualification or suitable industry experience.
