Course Overview

On this study programme you will explore Fine Art, 3D Design, Illustration, Fashion and Textiles, Product Design, Animation and Photography and will produce a specialist portfolio of work helping you to secure a place at a prestigious University. Students also complete a non-compulsory residential in a European city.

Work Experience & Industry Placements

You will have the opportunity to take part in work experience or work related activity through working on real art and design briefs for local employers, charities and community groups.

After The Course

After successful completion of this study programme you can progress onto a Higher Education programme at University. You can progress onto our Foundation Degrees in either Graphic Design or Photography.

What Will I Learn

You will gain a broad and in depth understanding to enable you to successfully progress onto University and your own career path. A typical week will include a mixture of fun practical and theory lessons focusing on a range of subject content related to art and design with support from your lecturer and working alongside others on your course. This will include workshops covering the use of various materials, processes and techniques used by designers, artists and photographers in drawing, photography, image making, ideas, art and design history, influences, fashion and textiles, printmaking, 2D design such graphics and 3D design such as product design, interior design and architecture. You will then apply this learning to set assignments and take your ideas and creativity in your own direction.

Teaching Learning and Assessment

Through classroom based activities and practical Art and Design workshops and experiences supplemented by trips and guest speakers from industry leaders

You will be assessed through a mixture of coursework and controlled assessments

Entry Requirements

4 GCSE's grade 4 or above including English and maths or equivalent 1 full Level 3 Qualification and or A Level in a preferable Creative Subject. Mature students will be considered with a Creative Portfolio.
