Course Overview

This qualification is for those working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and internal quality assurance. The units and qualification will provide those who carry out assessment and internal quality assurance roles in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role. This Award is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally-related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments. This course is delivered part time over 20 weeks. Delivery and support is on a 1:1 flexible basis.

What Will I Learn

This Award is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally-related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits) Unit 3: Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits)

Teaching Learning and Assessment

Teaching, Learning and assessment will be through a mix of support sessions, self study and teacher-led professional discussions. . All learning outcomes across this unit are internally assessed and marked online via our Smart assessor platform.

Entry Requirements

English and Maths level 2, Minimum of a level 3 or working towards a qualification in the subject you wish to assess/teach or experience of working in a sector.
