Course Overview
This qualification is for those working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and internal quality assurance.
The units and qualification will provide those who carry out assessment and internal quality assurance roles in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role.
This qualification is for those who assess knowledge and/or skills in the work environment using the following assessment methods: observation, examining work products, oral questioning and discussion, use of others (e.g. witnesses), learner statements and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
This course is delivered part time on a 1:1 flexible basis.

Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits)
What Will I Learn
To gain this Award, the candidate assessor must achieve:
• Unit 301 – understanding the principles and practices of assessment
• Unit 302 – assess occupational competence in the work environment

Teaching Learning and Assessment
Teaching, Learning and assessment will be through a mix of support sessions, self study and teacher-led professional discussions. . All learning outcomes across these units are internally assessed and marked online via our Smart assessor platform.

Required Experience
English and Maths Level 2, Minimum of a level 3 or working towards a qualification in the subject you wish to Assess/teach or experience of working in a sector.
