Assessing Vocational Achievement - Level 3 Certificate

This qualification is for those working in, or looking to enter roles in assessment and internal quality assurance. The units and qualification will provide those who carry out assessment and internal quality assurance roles in their organisation with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice as well as achieving a professional qualification for the role. This course is delivered part time with a flexible 1:1 approach. The course duration is 36 weeks or 1 academic year.

Industry assessment related placement and employment required.

TAQA -Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

When you successfully complete this course, you will be qualified to assess learners in the workplace and or a vocationally-related environment. Following this course, you may like to progress to an Internal Quality Assurance role.

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (15 credits) covers the following Units: Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits) Unit 2: Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (6 credits) Unit 3: Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits) This qualification is for those who assess knowledge and/or skills in both the work environment and vocationally-related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments.

English and maths level 2.

This course is delivered by a combination of highly experienced and qualified lecturers, assessors and industry experts.

Teaching, Learning and assessment will be through a mix of flexible 1:1 sessions, You will be assessed through observation, examination of work product, reflective accounts , evaluations of practice, professional discussion and a written assignment. All learning outcomes across the 3 units are internally assessed and marked online via Smart assessor

The cost for this course is £816.

Your assessor will help you identify any training you need, agree an assessment plan with you, help you plan and organise your development, help you to identify sources of evidence, observe you carrying out your job in the workplace, ask you questions about the work you do, make assessment decisions about the work you submit – both evidence and assignment(s) judge when you have met the requirements of the qualification, give you feedback about your evidence and assignment(s).

A candidate-assessor will need to assess a minimum of two candidates. It is the responsibility of the candidate assessor to locate these candidates. All candidate-assessors must have the support of an occupationally competent and qualified Assessor who will be responsible for counter-signing all decisions made by the candidate-assessor. Please note that the College does not provide for these requirements.

Experience within the training, assessment and education sector is desirable.
