Infrastructure Technician - Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (Starting between August 2020 and July 2021)
This Apprenticeship is designed to support learners to develop a full range of underpinning knowledge that can be used in a variety of businesses and industries that demonstrate confidence and transferability in a Digital Technology Environment. You will also develop your awareness of Health and Safety, employment awareness, communications and working relationships. An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine problems. The Infrastructure Technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.

What Will I Learn
As you move through the apprenticeship you will develop skills and knowledge in fields such as Help Desk Technician (First or Second Line Support), Infrastructure & Network Support. Elements you will study will cover skills such as networking, operating sysytems, command line, the interenet and business processes which will help you deal with issues that you may face in todays industry.
Our assesor/trainers have a passion for teaching & learning, and for IT. They have been involved in someway within the industryand are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge with their apprentices.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
All training is delivered solely in the workplace with the exception of the endpoint assessment, which will be at a given location. You will be working in a relevant workplace and have the support of your line manager/employer for the duration of your App
In most cases your apprenticeship is funded under the Governments apprenticeship funding programme. If this isn't the case then your employer will fund it.
How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed against set Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours that have been developed by the industry. Your employer plays a large part in helping and supporting you becoming a competent Infrastructure Technician. At the end of each of your Modules you will sit industry and knowledge based exams, these will enable to progress through something called a Gateway. Your final assessment known as End Point Assessment will take place at the end of your apprenticeship.
Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include five GCSEs, (especially English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject). Other acceptable entry requirements could be a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship, relevant qualifications and experience; as well as a passion for IT and a desire to succed in your field.
