CPD for Early Years Settings: Building Structures and Spaces to Hide In
Join Yeovil College, Yeovil College University Centre and Take Art for a free, fun, insightful, and accessible evening of valued skill development tailored for Early Years practitioners on Wednesday 20 November 2024, 6.15pm to 8.30pm, at the Yeovil College campus.
This practical workshop, led by Richard Tomlinson in collaboration with Take Art, will delve into the creative and educational benefits of large-scale construction, imaginative play, and three-dimensional creativity in early years environments.
Workshop Highlights:
- Hands-On Activity: Participants will work collaboratively in small groups to build a pyramid-shaped den using simple materials such as bamboo, masking tape, lining paper, string, tissue paper, and translucent materials. Personalize your hiding place with decorations like flags and bunting.
- Group Sharing: At the end of the practical activity, groups will come together to showcase their dens and share their experiences.
- Educational Insights: Richard Tomlinson will present an illustrated discussion on the educational benefits of construction activities and their links to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
