Course Overview

This is a knowledge only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or for those who need to know about assessment practice but who are not currently practising e.g. a starting point for aspiring assessors or a professional development qualification for managers, HR or quality assurance personnel.
This qualification is made up of one unit.
This is a knowledge based unit where you have to show you have the required knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of assessment.

This course is delivered part time over 8 weeks. Delivery and support is on a 1:1 flexible basis.

After The Course

On completion of this single unit knowledge qualification, you will have a good understanding of the principles and practices of assessment which will enable you to seek an assessing role. Once you are working as an assessor you can progress to the assessing competence or assessing vocationally related achievement qualifications. You would be welcome to discuss your options with your tutor during your course.

Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)

Our Lecturers

This course is delivered by a combination of highly experienced and qualified lecturers and industry experts.

Teaching Learning and Assessment

Teaching, learning and assessment will be through a mix of support sessions, self study and teacher-led professional discussions. All learning outcomes across this unit are internally assessed and marked online via our Smart Assessor platform.

Course Expenses

The cost for this course is £500. A course textbook is recommended for purchase at induction or available as an ebook via the Learning Resource Centre.

How Will I Be Assessed

This award is assessed via the completion of an assignment.
