How Will I Be Assessed
Entry Requirements
The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management is designed for experienced professionals and those ready to study at degree level. Applicants should normally meet the following criteria:
- Aged 19+
- GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent)
- At least one of the following:
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, or
- A degree in a relevant subject, or

As this is a Level 5 (degree-level) qualification, all applications will be reviewed individually. Applicants will be invited to attend an admission interview before an offer is made and will be advised of the criteria in advance.
We recognise that learners bring a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds, and we welcome applications from those who can demonstrate the ability and commitment to succeed on the programme. We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over as of 1st September in the academic year of admission) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants. Please email university.centre@yeovil.ac.uk to find out more.
International applicants will be required to evidence English language skills - this could be an IELTS score of 7.0, with a minimum score of 6.5 in each component, a grade 4 in GCSE English (or equivalent), or having recently completed a Level 3 qualification taught and assessed in the English language. For more information, please get in touch.
Required Experience
Professional experience and readiness for Level 5 study will be formally assessed at interview. While prior experience within an HR or people management role is strongly recommended, applicants without direct HR experience may be considered where they can demonstrate substantial professional responsibility, analytical capability, and the ability to apply learning within an organisational context.
As this is a degree-level qualification, applicants must be able to evidence the academic skills, critical thinking ability, and professional maturity required to succeed at Level 5.
