Course Overview
This course is designed for learners who want to develop and extend their digital and IT skills to prepare for different roles in the digital and creative industries, such as software and programming, network support and digital design.
The course will cover the following units that relate directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers and cover a wide range and use of different digital technologies, systems and software:
- Digital Skills Career Progression
- IT Technical Support Fundamentals
- Cyber Security
- Introduction to Programming
- Networking
- Database Software
Additionally English and/or maths will be undertaken along side this course were learners have not achieved a grade 4 or equivalent.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
The course will include a 5 day (40 hour) work placement.
Qualification Gained
Level 2 Extended Certificate in Digital and IT Skills.
After The Course
Learners will be able to progress onto a level 3 computing qualification
or an apprenticeship within the digital/IT sector.
English And Maths
Where the learner has not achieved a grade 4 in English/maths, this will
be taught alongside the digital qualification.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Assessment is via a combination of portfolio work, assignments,
demonstrations and presentations.
