Course Overview
This course enables you to further develop your skills and knowledge from Level 2 Barbering. You will learn more precise and creative hair cutting, shaving and facial hair shaping techniques, and you will develop your hair cutting and fading skills as well as looking at more creative cutting styles and disconnection techniques. During the course you will have the opportunity to complete additional units such as hair colouring, pattern work or perming that will enhance and develop your creative skills and knowledge.
Work Experience & Industry Placements
A work placement in a hair salon or a barbershop will be required whilst you are undergoing this course for a minimum of 30hours.
Qualification Gained
Level 3 Diploma in Barbering NVQ
After The Course
You will be able to go into industry and work as a fully qualified barber.
What Will I Learn
You will receive training in advanced consultation, advanced men's hair cutting techniques, creative facial hair shapes, provide shaving services, achieving a creative total look, basic men's hair colouring and perming techniques. You will also develop a portfolio of your work and enhance your skills.
English And Maths
Having a good understanding of Maths and English will assist you on this course.
A minimum grade of 4+ or C+ is required for this course.

Teaching Learning and Assessment
You will be assessed through practical observations; hair assessments must be carried out on live hair models which you will be required to source yourself. Exams will be undertaken via online exams alongside written/typed assignments.

Please enquire for course fees. You will also need to purchase a kit and uniform which is approx. £250, plus additional trips as required.
How Will I Be Assessed
You will be assessed through practical observation, online and written exams and through online work packs.
Entry Requirements
Grade 4 or C+ or above in English and Maths is required for this course
Required Experience
Level 2 Barbering Certification, or NVQ Level 2 Barbering is required to enrol onto this programme
