Yeovil College student Ollie Haste has signed a professional contract with YTFC

Yeovil College is thrilled to share that Elite Player Development Programme Student, Ollie Haste, has signed a professional contract with Yeovil Town FC, ahead of next season.

Ollie has played alongside the first team in the Somerset Premier Cup and has also been on the bench for several league games throughout the season.

In signing his pro-terms with Yeovil Town Football Club, Ollie has become the first graduate of our Elite Player Development Programme to sign professional terms with the Club.

The left-sided player impressed many with his performances last season, firstly for the Yeovil Town U18’s, who he led as captain to National 7-a-side victory for South West Colleges, but also in Men’s football for Barnstaple Town and Yeovil Town, specifically in the Somerset Premier Cup.

Ollie’s College Study Programme Manager, Louis Irwin, said: “Myself and everyone at Yeovil College are incredibly proud of Ollie’s achievement. It is brilliant to see that Ollie’s hard work and determination over the past two years has been rewarded. He has had setbacks, and he has taken personal risks, but this pathway has given him a very special opportunity. It has been great to see that Ollie has been capable of showing both academic and footballing excellence throughout his time at Yeovil College. I’m sure that everyone will join us in wishing Ollie a long and successful football career.”

In the final National League game of the season, Haste made his professional debut as a late substitute against Altrincham as the Glovers signed off with a victory.

His performances last season also earned him a number of call-ups to the England College side.
