YEOVIL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES FORMAL PARTNERSHIP WITH SOMERSET THEATRE COMPANY
Yeovil College is delighted to formally announce their partnership with Somerset’s professional Theatre company, Wassail. The partnership will enable every current and future student to become part of Wassail’s professional company, whilst continuing with their full-time studies at Yeovil College. Students will benefit from real, live and exclusive work experience opportunities within the theatrical and dance industry.
This partnership arrangement is unique to Yeovil College and further reinforces their commitment to deliver a curriculum that provides the young people of South Somerset with a solid future career, as well as a renewed commitment to safeguarding the arts within Somerset and Dorset.
The partnership brings unparalleled experiences to students, including creating opportunities for many live performances, supporting Wassail’s professional shows and experienced performers and getting involved with the arts across the whole of Somerset. Students will learn and understand what it is like to be an active member of a professional company and will gain an understanding of what it takes to be the absolute best within their chosen industry. Importantly, the partnership will provide students with a unique opportunity to learn their trade and to become the best they can be, and to then implement their skills and knowledge into a real-world environment, reinforcing their learning and cementing their education.
In addition, Wassail will introduce and lead a range of specialist industry experts to Yeovil College, including Pirates of the Carabina and Lissy Jane Vocal Tuition, providing students with the opportunity to learn from some of the most successful people within this sector.
Performing to a live and/or digital audience will become second nature and students will become extremely comfortable and confident with stage performance, under the expert guidance of Wassail. They will continue to undertake professional trips and visits, as well as performing termly showcases and the annual musical at Yeovil College.
