Our student restaurant is award winning

The incredible student led Da Vinci Restaurant has won the Food & Drink category at the ‘Stars of Somerset’ Award. The campaign was developed in honour of the people that continue to make Somerset an incredible place to live.

We spoke to Paul Morey, Hospitality and Catering Curriculum Manager, he said: “I am very proud of our learners and what they have achieved since the relaunch of Da Vinci. Their commitment and dedication has been shown not only in sales and exceptional customer feedback but also in the excellent achievement and grades our learners attain in their Hospitality qualifications.“

For five days a week, our 70 seater Da Vinci restaurant caters hot and cold drinks, cakes, lunches, and afternoon teas and is open during college hours. The kitchen and bar can also be booked for private evening functions throughout the academic year.

What makes this award-winning restaurant special is that it is entirely run and staffed by the college’s Hospitality students. The restaurant is run commercially and has recently undergone a refurbishment to expand it to double the size to house both a relaxed space to enjoy a chat and a coffee, and a formal area for a special dining experience.

We are so thrilled that an awesome restaurant like this gets the recognition it deserve. The whole team of staff and students should be incredibly proud of themselves. <3
