LAST FEW DAYS TO EXPLORE OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION MONTH
Following a significant demand to access the Yeovil College Open House Information Evening and the need to spend more time investigating post-16 options, the college announced that they would keep the informative and bespoke platform open until 5th November 2020. This means that they are approaching the last few days to view, explore and do research on the most appropriate next steps.
Yeovil College has taken a huge decision to go virtual this year and despite other local colleges have opting to undertake physical event, we are really clear in that we are not prepared to risk the safety of Year 11 pupils, our staff or our entire local community. Keeping the year 11s in uninterrupted learning and education and working hard to achieve their target grades will ultimately deliver long-term success and prosperity for our community, and for this reason, they have decided to extend their Open House Information Event.
Amy Wilshaw, Schools Liaison Co-ordinator, said: “We do not want to delay the sharing of our wonderful college. Each week, we have focused on a different subject, which will include A Levels (Kingston Sixth Form), T Levels, Apprenticeships and Vocational. We have also hosted a competition throughout October Half Term involving a treasure hunt around the platform, which enabled students to engage and interact with us.
This approach enables our future students to take their time, do their research and explore all the options available at post-16. No appointments are needed; there are no limitations; and access all areas, in a very safe and COVID controlled way.”
