EPDP Student selected for ECFA England Colleges Football Squad
Yeovil College are thrilled to announce that EPDP student, Ollie Haste, has been selected for ECFA England Colleges football squad for the 2021/22 season. Ollie was required to undertake two separate trials over the previous months and recently received the highly anticipated news.
Ollie had this to say about this incredible opportunity –
“I’m extremely happy to get this opportunity to represent the country at college level. I feel this is the next step in my career and a chance to get out there and show my stuff.”
Ollie is in his second year of the Elite Player Development Programme, and has been progressing brilliantly within his Level 3 Sport studies, and his football at Yeovil Town Football Club. His coach at YTFC, Mark Challen, commented, “Everyone at the club is delighted for Ollie and his recent achievements. Ollie has been a big asset to our programme and his loyalty to the club has been rewarded with his recent achievements, such as playing and training with the 1st team, and being selected for England Colleges.”
His tutor at Yeovil College, Louis Irwin, commented, “I’m incredibly pleased for Ollie, and it is exceptional that he is being recognised on a national scale. It’s great to see that his hard work, commitment and determination in the classroom, is mirrored out on the football pitch. These are great qualities that will help Ollie in whatever his next venture is post college.”
Ollie will be required at St George’s Park, home of England Football, to join up with the rest of the successful applicants in the first training camp of the season. Everyone at Yeovil College is incredibly proud of Ollie, and we look forward to seeing the opportunities and experiences that arise from this magnificent achievement.
