Course Overview
Students will experience and develop all the skills they need to prepare
for University, entry onto a Foundation Course or Apprenticeships within
Creative Industries.

University, Apprenticeship, Employment. (Career opportunities in: Fashion, Advertising, Event, Architecture, Documentary, Medical, Sports, Wedding & Portraiture).
What Will I Learn
Students will develop the practical, theoretical and written skills needed to progress in Art and Design. You will explore different genres of Art and Design such as Painting, 3D, Illustration, Print Making, Fashion and Textiles, Photography and Graphic Design which will help you to achieve a good skills base to develop your own ideas and complete high quality finished pieces. We will show you how to present your work professionally through practical portfolio and online presence. Students will benefit from working within our purpose built Drawing, Print, Photography and Ceramics studios.
Our Lecturers
The course is taught by well qualified and experienced lectures who are dedicated to ensuring student success through effective curriculum delivery and high-quality pastoral support. To support you with your studies we have a very experienced team with sector expertise, all of whom are practising artists who exhibit or publish their own work.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Variety of delivery methods including classroom activities, discussions, presentations and directed study.
Tutorials
As a student, you will have weekly tutorials that are used for one to one support, progress updates, employability skills and preparation for University.
How Will I Be Assessed
Assessment will take place during a project or topic and at the end. Students will also receive regular one to one input and support with their work.
Entry Requirements
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent for entry onto an A level programme.
- Grade 4 or above in GCSE Art, English and Maths is desirable.
Required Experience
GCSE Art is preferred, but not essential if you can demonstrate both passion and flair for Art & Design.
