Course Overview
If you have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Accounting
(Level 3) and want to achieve a Technician-level Accounting qualification, this
course is an excellent choice. It is suitable for people working in a finance
role and allows you to gain practical accounting skills that can be used in the
workplace. You will complete three modules covering Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements, Applied Management Accounting and Internal Accounting Systems and Controls in addition to modules on Business Tax and Personal Tax. It is sponsored by 3 main accountancy bodies and is a nationally recognised qualification.

After The Course
This course can prepare you for employment as an Assistant Financial Accountant, Commercial Analyst, Cost Accountant, Indirect Tax Manager, Payroll Manager, Senior Bookkeeper, Senior Finance Officer, Tax Supervisor, VAT Accountant.
What Will I Learn
You will learn through lectures, but you will be actively encouraged to join in and to contribute using your own accounting knowledge and work experience. There are five units to complete which are Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements, Applied Management Accounting and Internal Accounting Systems and Controls in addition to modules on Business Tax and Personal Tax.

You must be confident in English and Mathematics.

You will be taught by an experienced teaching team whose expertise and knowledge are closely matched to the content of the modules on the course. The team includes lecturers and professional practitioners with industry experience.
Teaching Learning and Assessment
Teaching will be through a mix of lecturing, facilitating, coaching, mentoring and online activities. Learners should expect to be stretched and challenged in every session. Developing an understanding of underpinning theory and application of it from a practical perspective while bearing in mind various accounting standards, concepts, analytical skills and self directed study.
How Will I Be Assessed
There will be 5 computer based examinations which will be sat at Yeovil College. These exams will be sat throughout the duration of the course. A mark of 70% is required to achieve a Pass in each examination.
Entry Requirements
You need to have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3).
Required Experience
Although current or previous experience in a finance role is not required for this course, it will immeasurably assist your studies on this course.
