Course Overview

Manufacturing Engineers primarily support the activities involved in bringing design programmes into manufacture. This role is pivotal to the launch planning and smooth delivery of exciting new products or product refresh programmes. The focus is on the advanced manufacturing techniques and project management skills required to launch products on time, on cost and to the right quality. Typically Manufacturing Engineers work closely with a range of other engineers, functions and managers both within their own company and supplier base

Teaching Learning and Assessment

You will be taught using a range of practical and theoretical methods. Assessment will take place in the form of formatice/summative assessments, and reviews held with your assessor on a regular basis.

How Will I Be Assessed

Learners are requried to demonstrate all evidence requirements, learning outcomes and assessment criteria through the production of an evidence based portfolio via; assessor observations, job write ups and professional discussions. Evidence will be naturally occurring examples across a range of units selected to allow the learner to demonstrate their competency in completing their regular work based activities.

Entry Requirements

Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their Apprenticeships. In order to optimise success candidates will typically have 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject, as well as A Levels at grade C or above in both a Mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering or additional Mathematics related subject, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3.
